Mapoosa is a long-lost island that was recently discovered. It is a virtual world where you could have tons of fun with your friends. Cool new stuff is added to Mapoosa every month. By buying a membership, you could become a Mapoosa Citizen and gain exclusive privileges.

1.2. What can you do in Mapoosa?

You could create a login for yourself, create an avatar and explore various places in Mapoosa. You can make friends, interact and compete with them, play games, earn money (Poosos), buy stuff and have lots of fun. You could also become a Mapoosa Citizen by buying a membership and gain additional privileges. Please see the Member benefits page for more details.

1.3. How can I become a Mapoosa Citizen?

To become a Mapoosa Citizen, you will have to buy a membership. Ask your parent to choose from the different membership plans available. Members get a lot of benefits including the ability to earn more Poosos, earn Badges, exclusive wardrobe access, exclusive Home designs and exclusive access to restricted areas.

2) Overview for Parents

2.1. What is Mapoosa?

Mapoosa is a virtual island where your child gets to learn Math, Science and Life skills in a fun, engaging environment. Mapoosa is ideal for children in Grades 2 – 8 and helps you, the parent, in extending their learning time and reducing the pressures associated with learning. Mapoosa is a safe, social world where your child could interact and compete with other children from around the world.

2.2. Is Mapoosa safe for my child?

Mapoosa is designed with child safety in mind. All the social aspects are monitored closely by us, and your child’s activities could be viewed and controlled by the parent as well using the Parent Dashboard.

2.4. Can I monitor my child’s activities on Mapoosa?

The Parent Dashboard provides you with insights into your child’s activities on Mapoosa, progress and competency progression. To gain complete access to the Parent Dashboard, your child will need to be a Mapoosa Citizen (by buying one of the different membership plans available).

3)Game Help

3.1. Mapoosan Avatar

3.1.1. What is a Mapoosan Avatar, and how do I get mine?

Every player in Mapoosa gets an Avatar – it is with this Avatar that the player can move around and explore Mapoosa. When you log in to Mapoosa, you would see the Avatars created by other players from around the world. To get an Avatar, all you need to do is sign in to Mapoosa.

3.1.2. What can I do with my Mapoosan Avatar?

Your Avatar is your identity on Mapoosa. For starters, you can buy costumes and dress up your Avatar in your own unique styles. You can interact with your friends – chat with them, throw water balloons at them and even kick them! You can move your Avatar around Mapoosa by clicking your mouse where you want your Avatar to be.

3.1.3. How can I customize my Mapoosan Avatar?

To customize your Mapoosan Avatar, click on the ‘Costume’ button at the bottom of the screen. This will open up the Costumes panel. Members have access to an exclusive wardrobe which they can access by clicking on the ‘Citizen Wardrobe’ button.

3.1.4. How do I buy more costumes for my Mapoosan Avatar?

To buy additional costumes for your Mapoosan Avatar, you will need to be a Citizen (by buying one of the different membership plans available). Citizens can click on the ‘Costume’ button at the bottom of the screen, and then click on the ‘Citizen Wardrobe’ button. There, you could choose the ‘Browse Catalogue’ option to view and buy the various available costumes.

3.1.5. Can I change my Mapoosan Avatar name after I’ve created it?

No, you cannot. Once you have chosen a User Name for your Avatar, you will not be able to change it since all your activities and items in Mapoosa are tracked using that name. If you need to change the name, the only option is to create another User Name.

3.2. Interacting with friends and other players

3.2.1. How can I see more details about other players?

To view more details about another player, click on that player’s Avatar. You will get a panel that displays additional options.

3.2.2. How do I chat with other players?

To chat with other players, enter your text in the chat box (in the bottom of the screen) and press the ‘Send’ button. Please remember that all other players in that location will be able to see your message. Please also refrain from using bad language, since the Mapoosa police could kick you out.

3.2.3. How do I make friends with other players?

Click on the Avatar you would like to add as friend. In the panel that appears, click on the ‘Add as Friend’ button. A request will be sent to that user, and once that user approves your friend request, you will be friends with that user



3.2.4. How many friends can I make?

Non-members can make 5 friends, while Mapoosa Citizens can make unlimited number of friends. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

3.2.5. How do I search for friends?

Click on the ‘Friends’ button in the bottom of the screen. On the panel that appears, click on any of the boxes that has a ‘plus’ symbol. This opens up the search screen. Enter the User Name of the person you want to search for. If a person exists, whose User Name matches the name you entered, then that person’s Avatar will be shown.

3.2.6. How do I send a friend request?

Please see the question ‘How do I make friends with other players?’ and follow the steps mentioned there

3.2.7. Can I unfriend a friend?

Yes, you can. Click on the Avatar of the person you would like to unfriend. Then click the ‘Unfriend’ button.

3.2.8. How do I know if my friend request has been accepted?

When a person accepts your friend request, a popup appears on your screen notifying you of the same. A notification also appears in your Post Box. To go to your Post Box, click the Post Box icon on top-right of your screen.

3.2.9. Can I write letters or notes to my friends?

Yes, you can. Click on the Post Box icon on top-right of your screen. Then click the ‘Write New Message’ button. This opens up a page where you can write your message. In the ‘To’ field, you could either write the User Name(s) of your friend(s) or you could click on the ‘Select Friends’ button to select the friends you want to write to. Press the ‘Send’ button to send the message.

3.2.10. Can I know what my friends are up to in Mapoosa?

Yes, you can. You will be updated about your friends’ achievements through alerts in your Post Box. You can also click on a user Avatar to see their Poosos count, Items, Costumes and Home. You can also visit a user’s home if the user is online.

3.2.11. How can I see if my friends are online?

When a friend is online, you will be notified through an alert. You can also click on the ‘Friends’ button in the bottom of the screen to see your list of friends. If a friend is online, that user’s status will be shown in green, and the friend’s location will also be shown.





3.2.12. How can I see where in Mapoosa my friends are when they are online?

On your Friends panel, you will be able to see your friends’ status and location.

3.2.13. How can I visit another player’s home?

To visit another player’s home, you will have to be his/her friend. Once you are friends, click on the user’s Avatar to bring up the details panel. Then click on the Home button which will take you to that person’s home. Alternatively, you could also bring up your Friends panel, and click on the user’s icon to see the user’s details panel. Then click on the Home button.

3.2.14. What else can I do with other players?

Currently, you can chat with others and play games with others. Apart from these, there are 2 actions you could do: Throw water balloons, and kick. We will be adding more features soon.

3.3. Mapoosa ‘Hall of Fame’

3.3.1. What is Mapoosa ‘Hall of Fame’?

Mapoosa ‘Hall of Fame’ features the champions in various categories – currently, it features the top players, richest and most popular players in Mapoosa. Additional categories will be added soon. If you get featured in the Hall of Fame, your Avatar and User Name will be seen by all the players in Mapoosa.

3.3.2. How can I get featured in Mapoosa ‘Hall of Fame’?

To get featured in Mapoosa ‘Hall of Fame’, you could try to visit all the places, play all the games and beat other players’ scores. Playing games will earn you Poosos. You could also keep buying items which will be used to calculate your ‘Net Worth’ – the value which will be used for the ‘Poosos and Items Toppers’ category. You could also try to get more of your friends to Mapoosa and try to become the Most Popular Person in Mapoosa.

3.4. Getting around Mapoosa

3.4.1. How can I visit the various places in Mapoosa?

To move your Avatar, just click on the place you want it to move to. Your Avatar will walk to the point where you clicked. To go across places, look out for arrows, doors or passageways. You could also use the Map to get to a place faster. To get the map, click on the Map icon on top-left of your screen.

3.5. Games in Mapoosa

3.5.1. How can I play games in Mapoosa?

Games are embedded in various locations in Mapoosa. Mouse over the items you see in a place and keep an eye out for Game icons like the ones shown in this picture.


When you click on the item that shows a Game icon, it opens up a panel from where you can play the game. The panel also shows clues to related games. You could crack the clues to get to the next game.
Based on the score you get, you will be awarded Poosos.

3.6. Characters in Mapoosa

3.6.1. Who are the characters in Mapoosa?

Mapoosa currently has the following fun characters:
Detective Dooga: The Sherlock Holmes of Mapoosa. A muddled one at that, though.
Jotishi, the fortune teller: He can tell you what the future has in store for you. Daily. For a price.
The foodies: Where there’s food, there’s the foodies.
King Ragda Patis: The fair, jovial king of Mapoosa.
Queen Jagda Patis: The queen of Mapoosa. Argumentative, but nice.
Jadooga, the sage: The ‘Mr. Know All’ of Mapoosa.

3.7.Earning Poosos and Badges

3.7.1. Poosos – the Mapoosa Currency

The currency of Mapoosa is Pooso.

3.7.2. How do I know my Poosos count?

The black information bar on the top-left of your screen shows your Poosos count. You can also click on your Vault to see the Poosos count.





3.7.3. What is Vault?

The Vault is where your Poosos and Items you purchase for your home are stored. You can click the ‘Vault’ button in the bottom panel to open your Vault.

3.7.4. How do I earn Poosos (Mapoosa currency)?

You can earn Poosos by playing games in Mapoosa.

3.7.5. How do I earn Badges in Mapoosa?

Badges are special achievements that you can win by playing sets of related games. When you click on a game to play it, the game panel shows you the related games you could play to win the badge. Winning a badge could unlock cool stuff. To earn all the badges, you will need to become a Mapoosa Citizen. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

3.8. Your home in Mapoosa

3.8.1. Where is my home in Mapoosa?

Everyone gets a home in Mapoosa. Click on the ‘Home’ icon located in the bottom panel to get to your home.

3.8.2. How do I upgrade my home in Mapoosa?

Once you earn enough Poosos, you could upgrade your current home. Click on the Home button in the bottom panel. Then enter your home. Once inside, click on the ‘Upgrade Home’ button. In the panel that opens, click the Catalogue icon to open up the available Home designs. Choose the Home you would like to upgrade to. Remember, a new home takes 8 hours to build. So you will need to check back after 8 hours to activate your new home.
To activate a Home design, you will need to click the ‘Activate’ button in your Homes panel.

Note: To upgrade your home, you will need to be a Mapoosa Citizen. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

3.8.3. How do I upgrade my home location in Mapoosa?

To upgrade your home location, click the ‘Home’ button in the bottom panel. Then go inside your home. Click on the ‘Choose Locations’ button. Click on the Catalogue icon on top of the panel. You can buy any of the locations shown in the Catalogue.

Note: To upgrade your home location, you will need to be a Mapoosa Citizen. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

3.8.4. How do I decorate my home?

Click on the ‘Home’ button in the bottom panel and go inside your home. Then click on the ‘Decorate Home’ button. This opens up a panel that shows the home items you have bought. Click on the item that you would like to use. The item appears on the top box of that panel. Then, drag and drop the item onto your home.







3.8.5. How do I buy items for my home?

Click on the ‘Home’ button in the bottom panel and go inside your home. Then click on the ‘Decorate Home’ button. This opens up a panel that shows the home items you have bought. Click on the item that you would like to use. The item appears on the top box of that panel. Then, drag and drop the item onto your home.


Note: To buy a home item, you will need to be a Mapoosa Citizen. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

3.9. Will you be adding more stuff to Mapoosa?

New stuff will be added to Mapoosa every month! A host of new places, games, pets, time travel, quests and characters will be added to Mapoosa soon.

3.10. What is Mapoosa time? Why is it needed?

The clock on top of the screen shows you the Mapoosa time. Since Mapoosa visitors come from around the world, this time is useful in setting a common ground for everyone. For example, if you are from London and your friend is from China, and you decide to meet in Mapoosa Port of Entry, you could use the Mapoosa time to specify when you should meet.

3.11. How can I switch off the background music?

To switch of the background music, click on the Mute button available on the left side of the screen.


4) Membership and Payment

4.1. Is Mapoosa free for everyone to play?

Mapoosa is free for everyone to play. To enter Mapoosa, click on the ‘Play Now’ button available on the Home Page. Then, choose a User Name and Password for yourself. Once done, you will get an Avatar with which you can explore Mapoosa. You can also customize your Avatar as per your own unique styles.

4.2. Why do I need to buy a membership?

Though Mapoosa is free for everyone to play, being a Mapoosa Citizen unlocks many exclusive features. To become a Mapoosa Citizen, ask your parent to choose from the various Membership options available.

4.3. How do I buy a membership?

Visit the Mapoosa Membership page (www.mapoosa.com/Membership) to view the various membership options available. Choose a Membership plan and proceed to payment. Once the payment process is complete, your status in Mapoosa will be changed to ‘Citizen’ and it will unlock all the Citizen-only features. If you are not comfortable paying online, please contact us using the Contact Form and we will help you complete your payment.

4.4. What should I do if my payment process did not complete?

If your payment process hangs in the middle of the payment process, please contact us immediately using the contact form. Please include your email so that we could reach you. You could also send us a mail with a screen-shot which will help us resolve the issue quickly. Please use the email mapoosa@callystro.com.com to contact us.

4.5. What happens when my membership expires?

We will send you notifications when your membership is about to expire. When your membership expires, you will go back to being a Mapoosa Visitor. You will lose access to Citizen-only features. Any Citizen-only items that you have in your Vault and Wardrobe will become unavailable to you. They will be stored safely, and will become available to you once you switch back to being a Citizen.

4.6. How do I cancel my child’s membership?

To cancel your child’s membership, log in to your Parent Dashboard. Select the child profile and click on the ‘Cancel Membership’ link. If a membership is cancelled in the middle of a membership term, the child will continue to be a member until the term is over.

5)Account Related

5.1. Player Account

5.1.1. How can I change my password (Child player)

To change your password, ask your parent to login to the Parent Dashboard. Once inside, your parent will have to select your profile and click on the ‘Change Password’ button

5.1.2. Can I delete my account?

Your parent has an option to delete your account. To delete your account, ask your parent to login to the Parent Dashboard. Once inside, select your profile and click on the ‘Delete Account’ button. If yours is the only account that your parent is maintaining, when your account is deleted, your parent’s account will also be deleted.
However, we do not recommend deleting your account since it will remove all your data.

5.2. Parent Account

5.2.1. How do I create a Parent account?

To create a parent account, please visit the Parent section at http://www.mapoosa.com/parent.php. Click on the ‘Create Parent account’ link. You will need to enter the email address you used while creating your child’s account, your child’s User Name, and choose a password.

5.2.2. How can I manage my child’s account?

The Parent Dashboard can be used to manage your child’s account. To create a parent account, please visit the Parent section at http://www.mapoosa.com/parent.php. You will be able to view your child’s profile, manage your child’s account and view the progress of your child (Available only for paid memberships).

5.2.3. How do I change my password?

Login to the Parent Dashboard, click on the ‘Change Parent Password’ button on top to change your password.

6)Technical

6.1. Can I play Mapoosa on my tablet?

The current version of Mapoosa is designed to run on PCs, Macs and Laptops. You will not be able to play Mapoosa on iPads due to lack of Adobe Flash Player support. You will be able to play Mapoosa on Android based tablets, though performance may be a sluggish. We recommend playing Mapoosa on PCs, Macs or Laptops.

6.2. Can I run Mapoosa on any browser on my PC/Laptop?

Mapoosa can be run on any browser. However, you will need to ensure that the browser has the latest version of Adobe Flash Player available. To install the latest Flash Player, please visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

6.3. How do I update my Flash Player?

If your browser does not have Flash Player installed, you would be prompted to download it when you try to open Mapoosa. If you would like to manually install Flash Player, please visit Adobe’s site http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

6.4. Mapoosa seems to be behaving erratically – What should I do?

We recommend you clear your browser cache before you login to Mapoosa. When you visit a website, your browser stores certain information so that the next time you visit that site, it loads faster. However, since we keep adding new features to Mapoosa, the information stored by the browser may cause conflicts the next time you try to load Mapoosa. This could be the reason for some strange errors that you may encounter. To clear your browser cache, please find the menu option in your browser that deals with ‘Clear History’. Then, choose the ‘Clear Cache’ option.

6.5. How do I clear my browser cache?

Different browsers have different menu settings for clearing cache. You could look for a menu option related to ‘Clear History’. Then, choose the ‘Clear Cache’ option.

6.6. The loading is taking forever – What should I do?

This could happen if: - Your internet connection breaks while you are playing Mapoosa, or - You have not cleared your browser cache before logging in to Mapoosa, or - We have done something goofy with our servers. You could try doing the following to rectify this error: - Clear your browser cache and try logging in again - If this does not fix the problem, please contact us and we will get working on it immediately.
